FAQ for East Lincoln Way Storage

  1. What is the duration of your storage unit rental lease?

We rent our storage units on a month-to-month contract.

  1. What form of payments do you accept?

We accept all major credit cards and you have the option to automatically withdraw your payment each month.  We also accept cash, check or money order.  Checks can be made payable to East Lincoln Way Storage and mailed to P.O. Box 2344, Ames, IA 50010.  Just a reminder, rent is due each month from the day the unit is rented.  A charge of $25 will be assessed for checks returned with non-sufficient funds.  A late charge of $20 will be assessed if rent is not received within 5 days of the due date.

  1. Do we need insurance for our belongings in the storage unit?

While it is not required, we highly recommend you do so.  We do not insure your personal items in the storage unit should they become damaged or stolen.

  1. Is the one-month deposit refundable?

The deposit will be returned after you move out, the unit is clean and the key and lock have been returned.

  1. Do you provide locks for the storage units?

Yes, we provide the locks with a key.

  1. What if I lose my lock and/or key?

No problem, please call us ASAP so we can replace the lock and issue you a new key.  However, there is a small fee for this.  To replace a lost lock, it is $40.  To replace a lost key, it is $10.

  1. What is the height of the door?

The door height ranges from 7 to 8 feet high.

  1. Are lights or power available to the storage units?

No, there are no available outlets or power to the storage units.  The exception to this is the 12x40 RV/Boat units.

  1. How do I reserve/rent a unit?

Call Kyle @ 515-450-6324.  You can reserve a unit when we receive your deposit.  To rent the unit, we will meet you to fill out an agreement form and give you the key to your lock.
